The interplay of empirical assessments and ethical reasoning in the field
will be given special attention. The course will review debates
concerning the current profile of poverty and inequality as well as their
possible causes and solutions. It will consider inequality and poverty
in both rich and poor countries, and in the world considered as a whole.
