ntroduction to Microeconomics - Spring 2006

Description: An introduction to how economists think about the world. Highly recommended for students who are considering majoring in economics or for students who want to take a single economics course to become familiar with basic concepts. The first half of the course will cover fundamental economic terms/concepts (e.g. supply and demand, trade, marginal cost, opportunity cost). The second half of the course will survey topics in applied microeconomics, such as labor markets, urban policy analysis, game theory, and financial economics.

 

Workload: Two midterms and a cumulative final exam. Weekly homework assignments based on short answer problems from the textbook, numerical problems based on lectures, and short answer problems based on outside readings.
