ECON BC1001 covers macroeconomics at an introductory level, including such topics as how markets operate, welfare analysis, economic growth, economic fluctuations and monetary and fiscal policy.

The course has two 75-minute lectures each week: Tuesday and Thursday, 2:40 to 3:55pm. Additionally, students are encouraged (but not required) to attend one TA session each week. The course requirements are a midterm exam (35%), a final exam (50%), and problem sets (15%).
